For Milan return example above:
- Your available ride window is effectively 13 months from late December 2025 to late January 2027
- CPD Carnet to be extended in Australia
- You are shipping your bike with Aussies returning from their Europe tour, which works out great for several reasons:
- Your bike is being shipped and sat ready in the AUS depot during Europe’s off-season;
- If you return ship with us back to Europe then you will again be shipping during Europe’s riding off-season; and
- With respect to your bike’s availability you are basically trading a season of Europe riding for a year long ride window in Australia.   

Please also consider the following when planning for your actual used ride window:  
- Summer is Dec Jan Feb and Winter is Jun Jul Aug
- Consider ruling out the summer school holidays part of the available ride window
- Tue 27 Jan 2026 kids return to school from summer holidays
- Sat 12 Dec 2026 kids start summer holidays
- Call the remaining ride window 10 months from Feb to Nov
- Riding summer can be fine but be mindful of the fact that all the beaches, rainforest waterholes, etc will be packed – and booking accommodation, campsites, etc will be a challenge unless you book well in advance.

Very broadly, consider Australia in terms of the five climate zones shown in image below: tropical, subtropical, arid, temperate and cool. The northern region has a very distinct wet and dry season.

SUGGESTED ROUTE TIMINGS:
- Tasmania is great summer riding location with Feb ideal outside of school holidays
- Tropical northern region six-month window from May to October with pleasant temperatures and minimal rainfall
- Other regions generally Autumn (Mar Apr May) and Spring (Sep Oct Nov) are just EXCELLENT
